After completing her PhD at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2003, Dr. Karen Cheung Siu-Lan was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the European Commission, allowing her to conduct population-related research in European countries and the USA. Returning from Europe, she served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at HKU in 2009-2012 and an Honorary Assistant Professor in 2012-2017. During her time in HKU, she has led the team to conduct “Hong Kong Centenarian Study” and “Reaching out Dementia Caregiver Support Project (REACH-HK).” Recently, she launched a new book “Healthy Longevity: Evidence-based Study of Hong Kong” and cooperated with Yan Chai Hospital (Social Service) to carry out a pilot study of “Holistic Healthy Life Education” intervention for middle-aged elders with psychosomatic and cardio-metabolic symptoms.

- Ms Agnes CHIANG Lai-ping

Ms Agnes CHIANG Lai-ping, daughter of Dr Chiang Chen, a philanthropic industrialist awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal, was a well-known singer, film, and television star in the 1980s. After becoming a Christian in 2003, she devoted herself to serving the needy. In 2013, the “Love Foundation” was established as a non-profit charitable organization to carry out the “Care for China Left-behind Project” and train volunteer teachers in Mainland China. This Foundation supports rural organizations to set up Happy Growth Classes and Sunday Nurturing Classes, caring for more than 60 million “left-behind children”, actively nurturing the next generation.

- Mr KWAN Chuk-fai, MH, JP

Mr KWAN Chuk-fai, has over thirty years of experience in corporate communications, management and executive development. He has served in organisations. He is a Founding Member of the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association. In his career as a professional communicator, Mr Kwan handled several crises. Mr Kwan has been active in promoting corporate social responsibility, social capital and shared values in various organizations. He formed the volunteer team in many corporations. He also serves in several public services.
Mr Kwan graduated from The University of Hong Kong with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Arts. He obtained an Executive MBA from theRichard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. He has also attended and completed leadership and executive development programmes of Tsinghua University and University of Michigan.
Mr Kwan was a member of The Court at The University of Hong Kong during 2011-2017. He is currently a Professor of Practice (Corporate Communication) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2006 and appointed Justice of the Peace in 2008.

Mr. Lo Sai Cheong

Mr LO Sai-cheong, a veteran media person with 39 years of relevant experience, has worked as a leader of the social service team of a newspaper, a well-known radio host, and an executive producer.
In 1986, Mr. Lo created the first magazine-style radio program for the elderly in Hong Kong, providing listeners with the latest information and entertainment. From then on, he planned and produced a number of large-scale popular activities for the elderly before his retirement.
After retiring in 2015, Mr. Lo took a short break and did some traveling. Then, he devoted himself to different volunteer services and continued to plan activities for several social welfare organizations, hold sharing sessions and undertake the tasks of being an emcee, a host and a volunteer mentor, etc. Even during the epidemic, he still helped several social welfare organizations to shoot video clips to encourage the elderly who stayed at home. Besides, he was often invited and interviewed to share his experience and retirement life.
In addition to serving the elderly in Hong Kong, Mr. Lo went to Dongguan to exchange ideas with local social welfare units and visit the elderly. In 2017, he went to Tianjin with the student volunteer group of Hong Kong, joining local student volunteers to participate in service activities of primary students to help the elderly and support the children there.
At present, Mr. Lo still invites guests and hosts the “Tying family knots” for the Hong Kong Housing Society once a month. He does enjoy the elderly services immensely and tirelessly!
