The pace of population aging in China is accelerating, and so are people's demands for diversified elderly care. "Care for the elderly" refers no longer to just room and bed, but a high-quality all-round elderly care service. This session invites social enterprises and organizations which provide elderly care services in the Greater Bay Area to talk about innovations on elderly care model and technology, elderly care practice and safety in community service. They will also discuss time banking, smart health practices, and smart livable solutions for elderly, deepening our understanding on the booming industry of elderly care.

Under Ms Liu’s leadership, Longlive received 10 awards in the social enterprise realm and became the first elderly care organisation certified B Corporation in China. An active leader in the social entrepreneurial space, Ms Liu was previously awarded the National Star of Social Innovation Award in 2016 and was listed as one of the top 100 creative business leaders in China in 2019.

Chairman, Shenzhen Lok Sin Kui Elderly Care Industry Development
Ms Wu Xuhong currently serves as Chairman of Shenzhen Lok Sin Kui Elderly Care Industry Development. From institutions to the community, she passionate about promoting comprehensive and integrated home care service models for the elderly. Ms Wu has held various senior management roles in elderly care organisations in Hong Kong and mainland China, including The Elderly Services Association of Hong Kong and Lok Sin Kui (Caring Foundation) Elderly Care. Born in Fuzhou, Fujian province, China, Ms Wu completed her studies in 1987 at the Fujian Normal University in Physical Education. In 1989, she relocated to Hong Kong and has worked in the elderly care industry since. Ms Wu is also a certified senior healthcare worker, nursing home director, first aider, rehabilitation, social worker, appraiser and health manager.

Mr Nick Zeng is the General Manager of People Strong High-tech Ltd that creates innovative elderly healthcare solutions. Mr Zeng and his team has worked with over 60 elderly care organisations on optimising management efficiency and economic benefits and has scaled up to become the official supplier for China Resources, Greenland Group, China Mobile and other major players in the market.
Mr Zeng’s work in social entrepreneurship has been recognised in China and overseas. He was named one of the top 10 model youth entrepreneurs in Guangdong province, China. In 2019, Mr Zeng led an incubation team at SkyDeck – a prestigious incubator programme for startups at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr Zeng was then nominated as one of the top 10 model innovative youths in the first Greater Bay Area Model Youth Innovation Selection event. Also in 2019, he was listed in the Forbes China 30 Under 30 list. In 2020, he was honoured in the Hurun China “Under 30s To Watch 2020” as an elite entrepreneur and became an APEC Changemaker. In the same year, he joined the Global Citizenship Academy and represented China as a youth representative at the SDG Summit held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Mr Zeng was also invited by the United Nations Shenzhen Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Association to participate as an entrepreneurship mentor at a high-profile entrepreneurship programme in Africa. Additionally, he won a scholarship to participate in a prominent social entrepreneurship programme in Bangladesh, India, and worked with Nobel Peace Prize Winner Professor Muhammad Yunus on challenges related to social entrepreneurship.

He is one of the youngest members of the Chinese “Health and Elderly Academy” and has served 90,000 elderlies, including over 50,000 individuals and nearly 40,000 elderlies through various care homes.

Mr Xia is the CEO of China Social Enterprise Certification Center. Under his leadership, the centre issues national certification for social enterprises and social innovation organisations in Beijing, Chengdu, Foshan City in Shunde district and other areas in China. Mr Xia also collaborated with various academic institutions on several social enterprise research, including the Peking University Civil Society Research Center, the China Institute of Social Entrepreneurship at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, the Yunus Center at the School of Business, Renmin University of China and the Philanthropy and Social Enterprise Research Center at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Recently, Mr Xia became a prominent speaker and educator in social innovation governance, community development and social impact investment at various international events organised by international government departments, independent entrepreneurs, industry representatives, social organisation leaders and universities.
