The HKU School of Nursing is leading research and innovative care model development in gerontology and long-term care. This thematic research team focuses on global priorities in population aging, promoting the compatibility of older adults' intrinsic capacities with the environment for the sake of health and functional optimization. By integrating clinical, telehealth and behavioral approaches, we've developed innovative practices to enhance health outcomes and self-care for prevalent conditions. Prioritizing cognitive health, we use strengths-based concepts to create lifestyle, caregiver and family interventions for dementia prevention and management. Leveraging big data, our research optimizes evidence-based care and builds informal caregiver capacity.
