(Hong Kong, 31 July 2025) BOC Life 10th Golden Age Expo and Summit, hosted by the Golden Age Foundation with title sponsorship by BOC Life Assurance Company Ltd (BOC Life), held the opening ceremony today (31 July) in Hall 3FG of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. The expo will continue for three consecutive days (31 July to 2 August). The ceremony was officiated by Guest of Honour, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration The Hon CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP, along with community, political and business leaders from Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines, witnessing the launch of the tenth anniversary celebrations. Focusing on the theme of "A Decade of Innovation, From Silver to Gold," this year's expo includes nearly 200 booths showcasing the latest smart ageing technology, cross-border elderly care, financial services and golden-agers’ life planning. In addition, the summit will include more than 50 special topic forums and interactive workshops injecting innovative momentum into the development of the smart ageing industry and the shaping of a sustainable ageing society.

Marking its tenth anniversary, Golden Age Foundation will sign a memorandum of understanding with the multinational professional services network EY, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Shenzhen Wellbeing and Wellness Group Co., Ltd. to jointly explore a Bay Area Model of smart elderly care and to promote the development of the silver economy.
Six Themed Exhibition Halls Showcase Innovative Products and Services
The expo includes nearly 200 exhibits covering six major themes that comprehensively showcase innovative products, services and approaches for the ageing industry, to create a blueprint for the future lives of senior citizens.
- Wealth, Finance and Cross-border Retirement: BOC Life dedicated exhibition area presents a one-stop experience zone offering diversified new options for cross-border elderly care, and a special “BOC Life Smart Ageing Zone” providing multi-faceted support and inspiration to senior citizens through themed seminars, interactive experience, and information sharing.
- Lifestyle: Targeting the pursuit of a quality lifestyle by golden-agers, the expo includes a special Chic Lifestyle Zone, with classic Hong Kong brands demonstrating how they have innovated and evolved to meet the demands of the times. Additionally, Silver Ballet, photography and qipao designs reflect the economic dynamism of the Silver Set.
- Innovative Ageing Care: CPIC Life (HK) and Pacific Care Home introduce an intergenerational program called "one insurance policy, three generations of elder care. Shenzhen Wellbeing and Wellness Group Co., Ltd. showcases a smart elder care industry that integrates elder care, childcare and medical care.
- Age Friendly Community: Showcasing models for barrier-free, diverse and inclusive elder-friendly communities, the Hong Kong Housing Society’s Cheerful Court Senior Citizen Residences provide integrated residential, recreational and medical services, and coordinate diverse social activities for an active ageing lifestyle.
- Medical and Health: BNet showcases an all-new product called STICKu, a walking stick equipped with a fall warning function to ensure safety. Mitsui showcases “Thick-N Instant”, the thickener designed for people who have difficulty swallowing. Conforming to international standards, it assists caregivers in safely preparing meals and ensures the safety of elderly people when eating.
- Digital: NEC showcases an AI Smart Care Robot that provides 24-hour uninterrupted safety protection, living assistance and emotional support.
First “Golden Age E-Triathlon” with Contestants from Four Regions
The expo venue features a unique “Smart Ageing Sport Zone” with a variety of sports for senior citizens, incorporating digital interactive experiences to address consumers' pursuit of physical health, harnessing technology to encourage health and social interaction among the older generation, and promoting inter-generational digital inclusion. This year, the event will also host its inaugural “Golden Age E-Triathlon,” combining virtual swimming, cycling and running. The competition has attracted more than 200 participants from Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore for the preliminary round, with 60 contestants advancing to the final round on-site. The venue will also feature interactive experiences such as e-mahjong and disco exercises that highlight an energetic golden-age lifestyle.
Time Tunnel showcases the ten-year history of Golden Age Foundation as a pioneer in promoting the silver economy. Golden Age Foundation has promoted the development of a Smart Ageing City throughout this time, and has advocated for the contribution and potential of golden-agers to sustainable society, while also actively rewiring society's conceptions of retirement and "old age."
Summit Draws Together Industry Leaders, Reviews a Decade of Transformation, Projects a Golden-age Future
This year's summit features over 50 forums and interactive workshops, drawing leaders from the local and international political, business and academic sectors to construct a dialogue platform that spans policy, industry and international perspectives to discuss a future blueprint for the Smart Ageing industry. The opening forum, “A Decade of Innovation, From Silver to Gold”, features keynotes speeches by Dr Arase Yasuko, Deputy Mayor of Fukuoka City, Japan, Mr. Wilson Tang, Chief Executive of BOC Life and Prof. Du Peng, Dean of the School of Population and Health at the Renmin University of China, for an in-depth analysis of transformations and industry innovations in the various places. The first day of the summit focuses on core issues such as “Innovation and Practice in Elder-Friendly Design” and “Rethinking and Restructuring Healthcare Financing Strategies”. The summit invites Mr. Yue Chak-sang, Lawson, Assistant Director, New Buildings 1 Building Department, HKSAR, and Ms. Louise Bergholm, Consul General of Sweden to Hong Kong and Macau, to discuss topics such as barrier-free design concepts and healthcare financing. In addition, Mr. Christopher Hui, GBS, JP, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, HKSAR, Mr. Ho Kai-ming, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, HKSAR, and Mr. Edward To Wing Hang, JP, Director of the Social Welfare Department, HKSAR, will also take part in the second and third days of the summit for in-depth discussions with mainland experts, industry leaders, representatives of social welfare organizations, and scholars on topics such as promoting the silver economy, the practical implementation of cross-border elderly care, innovative care support services, and the development of related industries. BOC Life 10th Golden Age Expo and Summit is open to the public without charge and offers a one-stop experience covering the future of golden-age living in terms of medical care, food, housing and transportation, as well as an in-depth look at the latest developments in the smart ageing industry.
