Q: What are the dates and times for Golden Age Expo and Summit 2021 (GAES 2021)?

A: Golden Age Expo and Summit 2021 is held online and in-person through a dual hybrid event model. The virtual expo and summit will take place between 16 August and 15 September 2021. And the physical expo and summit will be held between 27 and 29 August 2021 from 11am to 6pm at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre (Opening Ceremony begins on the first day at 10:30am to 11:30am).

Q: What format will GAES 2021 be held with?

A: GAES 2021 will be held online and in-person through a dual hybrid event model.

Q: Is GAES 2021 open to the public? Is there a charge?

A: GAES 2021 is open to the public to learn more and help us develop smart ageing cities. Admission is free of charge.

Q: How do I register to participate in GAES 2021?

A: Depending on the participating format of your choice (i.e. virtual or in-person), registration is available on both virtual and physical expo and submit pages on our website. If you wish to participate in both virtual and physical expo and summit, you may have to register two times.

Q: How do I know my registration has been successful?

A: A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided once your registration has been successful. If you haven’t received a confirmation email, please check the junk mailbox in your email. You can also contact us by email at gaes2021@goldenage.foundation.

Q: When will I receive a confirmation email after completing my registration online?

A: You will receive a confirmation email as soon as you have completed your registration online. We will also send you an email reminder three days before the event start date.

Q: How do I access the virtual expo and summit?

A: A unique link will be sent to you via the confirmation email. You can access the virtual expo and summit through this link.

Q: How do I enter the physical expo and summit venue?

A: Please present your confirmation email at the entrance of the venue to enter the physical expo and summit.

Q: If tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or Black rainstorm signals are in force during the event period, will GAES continue to take place?

A: In case of adverse weather conditions, please pay attention to our special arrangements on the day of the physical expo and summit. If you are attending the virtual expo and summit, please join us from a safe location.

Q: What are your arrangements if COVID-19 cases increase?

A: The health and safety of all participants, speakers, partners and staff are our top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation locally and abroad and make appropriate arrangements according to the latest preventative measures issued by the government. Q: Does the venue at GAES 2021 provide disability access? Are guide dogs allowed to enter the venue?

A: The physical expo and summit will be held at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre (HKCEC) and is equipped with barrier-free access. Guide dogs can also enter the venue. Wheelchair ramps are available for lifts with bigger capacity and all entrances and exits. Furthermore, tactile and braille maps and induction loop systems are available at the information centre at Harbour Road and Expo Drive entrances. Both entrances are also equipped with tactile guide paths. Accessible toilets and telephone booths at HKCEC and accessible parking spaces at both adjacent car parks are also available.

Q: How many people have participated in GAES?

A: Held in its 6th year, GAES has organised five previous editions and over 100 discussions. To increase the exchange and collaboration between local and overseas organisations, over 270 international speakers have been featured at GAES to share their ideas and experiences on smart ageing. The expo has also hosted over 300 participating organisations and attracted over 64,300 visitors.
