Dr. Lam is the Director of Health, who leads the Department of Health to execute healthcare policies and statutory functions, as well as to safeguard the community’s health through a range of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

On international front, Dr. Lam is the founding Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine. He had also served as the designated focal points of the Western Pacific Regional Network of Health Workforce Regulators, as well as Tobacco Free Initiative and the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in various years.

Dr. Lam is currently also the Commissioner of the Auxiliary Medical Service, the Chairman of the Pharmacy & Poisons Board of Hong Kong and the Radiation Board of Hong Kong, Chairman of Chinese Medicines Board of Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, the Vice-Chairperson of the Hong Kong Advisory Council on AIDS, the ex-official member of the Medical Council of Hong Kong, Hospital Authority Board, and a number of statutory and advisory bodies.

In 2006, Assoc Prof Lee set up the first hospital-based family medicine department in Singapore. He is working towards creating a sustainable healthcare system for a rapidly ageing population. His work is validated by two landmark randomised control studies that proved the effectiveness of transitional care services in reducing unnecessary hospital utilisation.


In 2011, he was also appointed as the Medical Director of Bright Vision Hospital and had led the team to transform the hospital into Singapore’s first dedicated COVID-19 community isolation facility.
Assoc Prof Lee also teaches Family Medicine at the Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore. He incorporates patient-centred care and care integration into the Family Medicine curriculum. In 2022, Assoc Prof Lee was appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Education and Community Partnerships), SingHealth Community Hospitals and he currently oversees the clinical training of three community hospitals.

Dr Yip Wai Man graduated from HKU in 1991. He was trained at Princess Margaret Hospital and got his fellowship as a Geriatrician. He worked at Princess Margaret Hospital for the past 22 years. He has special interest in dementia studies, stroke rehabilitation, osteoporosis and pain management. Now he has his private Medical Centre in Mei Foo providing a full range of medical, health and rehabilitation services for the aged population in Hong Kong. He is the Founding member and Consultant of Civil Health Society Association. He is now the founding vice-president, Hong Kong Private Geriatrician Association (HKPGA).

Professor Samuel Wong is a clinician with training and experience in both Family Medicine and Public Health. Currently, Professor Wong serves as the Director of the School of Public Health and Primary Care and as the Associate Dean (Education) at the Faculty of Medicine at CUHK. Professor Wong has published over 370 peer-reviewed papers with his research interests primarily focused on the evaluation and development of mental health and multimorbidity interventions among older adults in primary care. ​

Professor Wong has served the Hong Kong SAR Government in various capacities, including as a member of the Steering Committee of the Primary Care Development. He has also been involved in education and accreditation committees for medical and dental councils. Currently, he is the Vice-President of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians and Community Medicine.

Dr Hong FUNG is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC). CUHKMC is the private teaching hospital wholly owned by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Dr FUNG is also Professor of Practice in Health Services Management at the Jockey Club School of Public Health & Primary Care, CUHK, where he teaches health services planning, healthcare innovation and technology management, healthcare financing, communications and marketing, and decision making in the School’s master and leadership programs.
