Abstract
The integration of Chinese and Western medicine presents valuable opportunities to combine the strengths of both systems in support of patient-centred care. This theme explores practical strategies for advancing integrated healthcare, improving clinical outcomes, and fostering innovation through cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Dr FONG Ho Ching, Edmund
Deputy Director of Health, Department of Health, The Government of the HKSAR
Dr Fong is a specialist in public health medicine. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002 and later obtained a Master of Medical Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Community Medicine). Dr Fong joined the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2004 and currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Health, where he oversees health services and administration of the department.

Dr CHUNG Chi Ho Vincent
Commissioner for Chinese medicine development, Chinese Medicine Unit, Health Bureau, The Government of the HKSAR
Dr. CHUNG Chi Ho, Vincent is currently the Commissioner for Chinese Medicine Development at the Health Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong and a registered Chinese medicine practitioner of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong. With professional backgrounds in Chinese medicine, evidence-based medicine, and public health, he is primarily responsible for coordinating policy formulation and implementation in key areas including Chinese medicine services, Chinese medicine profession, Chinese medicines development, cultural inheritance, and supporting Chinese medicine in “going global.” He is committed to promoting the comprehensive, high-quality, and high-standard development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
Dr SO Tsz Him
Committee Member, Committee on Assessment of Chinese Medicine Degree Courses, Chinese Medicine Council
Dr So is a specialist in clinical oncology and Chinese Medicine practitioner in private practice. Dr So is a consultant in clinical oncology at the CUHK Medical Centre. He is currently Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in Clinical Oncology in both HKU and CUHK.
He graduated with both Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (BChinMed) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from The University of Hong Kong. He was awarded Pong Ding Yuen Prize in Chinese Medicine and John Anderson Gold Medal on graduation for achieving the highest aggregate of marks in BChinMed and MBBS degree respectively. He was awarded the Frank Doyle Medal, the Gold Award and Early Career Investigator Award.

Dr Hubert Chi Ho WONG
Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong Chan Sing Hoi Medical Investment Group Limited
Dr Hubert chiho Wong, registered general practitioner in both Hong Kong and mainland China. Acquired Master of Philosophy in surgical sciences and Master of Sciences in health service management from the Chinese university of Hong Kong. Dual fellows of Hong Kong college of health service executive and Australian college of healthcare management. Interested in health service management and biomedical investment. Member of the Chinese People’s political consultative conference (CPPCC) in Zhongshan. Founder and managing director of Globalclinic in Shenzhen which is the first medical center set up under CEPA policy. CEO of Hong Kong Chan Sin Hoi healthcare investment group which owns and operates Zhongshan Chan Sin Hoi integrated Chinese and Western medicine hospital, a level III A hospital with 1100 beds as well as directors of several biomedical companies.

Professor Wong is a scholar and specialist in Family Medicine, and a researcher in the field of cancer screening and prevention of chronic diseases. He is currently a Professor and Director of the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion, Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also the Associate Head and Dean of Students of the United College, CUHK.
He has over 600 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and has received over 15 international and local research awards for his studies. His expertise of “Colorectal Neoplasm”, “Mass Screening”, “Early Detection of Cancer” ranks in the top 0.055%, 0.095%, and 0.14% in the world, respectively. He ranks as the top number 1 researcher in China in the field of disease screening [from expertscape: https://www.expertscape.com/; on 10/9/2022]. He is a leader of an international research group which is a global organization jointly participated by various Universities in the world. He has been co-chairman of the APRU Global Programme [NCD] for many years. In 2024, he was selected as a “Highly Cited Researcher” by Clarivate, an award which recognizes awardees as the pioneer in his field over the last decade, demonstrating significant and broad influence in one’s field of research.
