Abstract
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of ageing by unlocking new opportunities for care, services, and innovation. This session envisions how AI can be applied strategically to enhance quality of life, support ageing societies, and drive inclusive growth in the silver economy.
Keynote Speaker
Mr Ricky CHOI
Director of Smart City & Digital Transformation, Cyberport
Ricky Choi is responsible for promoting and driving the development of the Smart City & Digital Transformation, across Hong Kong and the region. Ricky aims to create abundant opportunities for younger generations to innovate by partnering with industry partners, associations, and ecosystem stakeholders within the Smart City/Smart Living framework.
With over 20 years of experience in the Smart Living and Retail Technology industries, Ricky is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Computer Society (FHKCS), where he helps facilitate the launch of startups and pioneers automation solutions for retail industry. Ricky has also actively participated in public services related to education, industrial training, and youth development. Currently, he serves as a member of the Committee on Home-School Co-operation and Assessment Panel member on Award for Education Innovation, Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence, appointed by the Education Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, and a member of The Electronics and Telecommunications Training Board of the Vocational Training Council (VTC).
He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Industrial Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Master of Arts degree in Architecture from Kingston University, London, an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has completed the Executive Education of Technology & Innovation Management Programme from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

Dr George MARGELIS
Chief Technology Officer, Ageing Australia
Dr George Margelis is a medical practitioner who has been deeply involved in technology for the last 30 years.
He was Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a private hospital group as well as managing an innovative software development team that produced a number of online health applications. He also acted as senior adviser to HIMSS, the international peak body for health technology and as Asia Pacific chair of the Continua Alliance.
In 2013 he was appointed an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Sydney with the TeleHealth Research & Innovation Laboratory (THRIL). In 2014 he was appointed to the IT in Aged Care Hall of Fame for his work in the use of technology in aged care. He was CXIO Ambassador for HISA in 2018 and has been involved in a range of health technology companies. In 2019 he was appointed independent chair of the Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council. In 2024 he was appointed Chief Technology Advisor for the Aged & Community Care Provider Association.
George also acts as a Digital Health Advisor with the Australian Digital Health Agency as well as a member of the Advancing Aged Care through Digital Health advisory group for the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre. He is a board member of Multicultural Care, a home care provider for the CALD community. He is also the Australian ambassador for the Global Health Connector.
