Abstract
Caring communities are built through shared purpose, creativity, and collective action. This theme envisions how collaboration across sectors and stakeholders can spark innovative solutions that strengthen social support, deepen inclusion, and improve wellbeing for all.

Ms YAN Lai Ming, Jenny
Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Elderly), Social Welfare Department, The Government of the HKSAR
Ms YAN Lai Ming, Jenny has been serving as Assistant Director (Elderly) of the Social Welfare Department since June 2023, responsible for overseeing the Elderly Services Branch in the planning and implementation of various elderly services in Hong Kong, including community care and support services, residential care services, and carer support services. Ms YAN previously served as District Social Welfare Officer (Central Western, Southern and Islands), where she led the planning and coordination of community-based welfare services, in collaboration with government departments and local stakeholders to meet local community needs, and managed the operation of SWD service units in the district.

Alphae Chen is Managing Director and Head of Group Marketing and Communications (HK and Mainland China) of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited.
At DBS Bank, Alphae oversees the overall marketing and communications for the Bank in Hong Kong and Mainland China, encompassing branding, PR & Media, business marketing and local DBS Foundation initiatives, as well as providing communications advisory and insights for the Bank’s strategic priorities to ensure the safeguarding of the Bank’s reputation.
Alphae has over 25 years of experience in financial PR and media, investor relations, branding and marketing, as well as cross-border strategic counselling for both Chinese and international companies. She has a deep understanding of how the interests of corporate, financial, political and societal audiences intersect to compete and cooperate in the global context, and how best to create value through communications, marketing and branding. She has global communications experience in capital market transactions, litigation, reputation management, government and regulatory affairs, crisis and issues management, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs, specialises in the financial services sector.
Alphae has long-term experiences from both corporate in-house and consultancy. Prior to joining DBS Bank, she was Managing Director and Head of China at Citigate Dewe Rogerson. She previously served at Corporate Affairs, Citi China and spent her early career years at Ogilvy under the WPP Group.

Mr Paul CHOW
Group General Counsel & Chief Sustainability Officer, Hong Kong Exchanges and Cleaning Limited
Mr Paul Chow is Group General Counsel and Group Chief Sustainability Officer at HKEX and is a member of its Management Committee.
Based in Hong Kong, he heads up the Group’s Legal & Secretariat functions, overseeing the Legal and Secretarial Services teams globally. He also provides strategic legal counsel to the HKEX Board and Senior Management team. In addition, Mr Chow oversees the Sustainability function at HKEX, encompassing the Corporate Responsibility & Foundation team and the Carbon & ESG Product team. In this role, he is responsible for driving the Group's sustainability strategies that align with HKEX’s purpose and long-term goals.
Prior to joining HKEX in 2021, Mr Chow worked at Cathay Pacific Airways where he was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. Before working in-house, he was a partner at Davis Polk Wardwell LLP, Linklaters and Slaughter and May, bringing broad experience from both private practice and as in-house counsel, along with specific expertise in corporate finance and capital markets. Outside of HKEX, he is a member of the Supervisory Committee of Tracker Fund of Hong Kong, Funds Management Sub- Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Resolvability Review Tribunal, Standing Committee on Compliance of the Law Society of Hong Kong and Green Technology and Finance Development Committee.
Mr Chow holds a Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master of Science in Global Business from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Prof Rebecca CHOY YUNG
Founding Chair, Golden Age Foundation
Rebecca is a business entrepreneur turned serial social entrepreneur. Since changing her career path over 18 years ago, Rebecca has devoted her full effort to promoting social innovation and social entrepreneurship in Hong Kong and Greater China, integrating the civic, business, government, academic and research as well as professional sectors together to developing a collaborative eco-system to solve societal issues. She founded the Golden Age Foundation in 2015 to address the challenges and opportunities posed by demographic changes, fostering the development of smart ageing cities and empowering Golden Agers (people 45+) as a new force of social change.
Over the years, Rebecca spares no effort in training young and Golden Age social entrepreneurs in Hong Kong and the Mainland. Rebecca has published a series of books, academic articles and took part in various researches and surveys.

Clinical Associate Professor in Neurology and Director, Stroke Research and Prevention Group (HKU Stroke), LKS Faculty of Medicine, HKU
Professor Gary Lau is currently Assistant Dean (Education Innovations), Clinical Associate Professor and Director of HKU Stroke at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He has published >200 articles/book chapters on stroke and have developed a number of innovative platforms to improve the prevention and holistic management of stroke. He serves on a number of local and international committees relating to stroke and has received numerous prestigious awards such as a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury from the International Exhibition of Inventions at Geneva, Future Leader Award from the World Stroke Organisation, Award for Patient-Oriented or Clinical Research in Hypertension from the American Heart Association and Smart Ageing Leader Award from the Golden Age Foundation, and selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong in 2024.
