Due to the severity of the issue of climate change, and its lack of awareness among the general public in Hong Kong, our Foundation will launch the Golden Age - Climate & Conservation Ambassador Program. This program will provide participants with the essential knowledge and help Golden Agers to understand the issues of climate change and conservation. Participants will be empowered to share their knowledge or organize activities within their communities in the future and spread related messages to different groups in the society. Deadline for application : 18 August 2018. Enrolment is on a first-come-first served basis.
The ceremony was officiated by Ms Cecilia Lam (Director, Museum of Climate Change), Prof. Gabriel Lau (Co-Director, Institute of Environment, Energy & Sustainability, CUHK), Mr. John Leonard Chan (Survivor of typhoon Haiyan), Mr Jeff Leung Chi-keung (Deputy Director, Public Affairs of CLP Power), Dr Rebecca Lee (Founder, Polar Museum Foundation), Ms Rebecca Choy Yung (Founder & Chair, Golden Age Foundation), Prof Leung Wing-mo (Climate Spokesperson, 350HK) and Mr Ringo Mak (Chairman, TOYPA Trust).
The Golden Age Climate & Conservation Ambassadors visited Kadoorie Farm on Sep 15. Joining a guided tour of bio-diversity, they gain more knowledge on the topic of climate change.
